Winery

The quality of the Wines starts in the vineyard – this is our conviction. This conviction is based on the long experience of our family in the vine refinement business. The selection of the grape varietals, according to the conditions of nature, is essential for the development of the grapes.



From January to August, we dedicate all of our work to the care of our vineyards, so that we can harvest healthy and ripe grapes in autumn. This is not always easy: Has there been frost during bloom? Will the thunderstorm pass without hail? Does the late summer have enough sunny days? Each year is different, and brings new challenges for us.



October is the most exciting time for us. Especially at this time, it is crucial to be patient, so that the grapes can develop their rich flavours. After the vintage musts ferments in the cellar and they are bubbling as in a witches’ cauldron. But we do not use witchcraft – quite the opposite: Our philosophy is to handle the wines carefully, so that you can taste the fruit flavours of the grapes in our wines. These wines receive their freshness by a particularly careful fermentation.



We are paying much attention to our red wines. We ferment them on the mash, so that they get a strong, clear color. We also avoid high temperatures, not to exhaust the wines and finish them in oak barrels. Results are strong Dornfelder, elegant Pinot Noir and full-body St.Laurent wines with beautiful ripeness.



The cellar master, Helmut Darting loves Riesling, the most important grape varietal of the vinery. As beautiful meal companions we offer the different burgundy varietals. Our particular focus lies on our delicious dessert wines. You will find varietals like Rieslaner, Scheurebe, Huxelrebe and Muskateller on our list of wines.Winelist



Winemaking is our life. Our best finish for a year is – if our work is rewarded by the creation of a new icewine. Each vintage has great challenges for us for every day, which we answer with love and dedication. You can smell and taste this dedication in our wines.
